It was a sunrise start. We exited Clearwater Inlet and headed south. All apprehensions about taking the outside route were quickly dispelled. The Gulf was calm and beautiful and we cruised smoothly at 20 knots all the way down to Boca Grande Pass were we back inside to the ICW and down to Fort Meyers.. We covered 130 miles in about 7 hours. It was a great start to the trip. Tomorrow the scenery changes drastically as we head up the Callosahatchee River to Roland Martin's Marina on Lake Okeechobee.
